Creation of co-working area, via CAT B refurbishment at Kensington Village
Avon House, Kensington, London
Pexhurst were approached to create a co-working breakout & open plan collaboration area in the reception of Avon House. This was achieved through the removal of an existing unused meeting room.
The bespoke Core-Ten steel effect laminate shelving system was installed as a central feature to provide separation from reception, whilst maintaining light and an open plan layout.
Works comprised of the strip out of existing partition walling, ceilings and floors. New services were installed to accommodate a new kitchenette area and new feature lighting.
The internal brickwork was left exposed and feature floors with bespoke industrial furniture and seating aligned well with the heritage of this historic building. Feature brick walling to replicate the London Stock Brick Facades of the historic Warehousing that form Kensington Village.
This seven-week project in a live building with existing tenants in residence, had to be planned carefully. The working area was completely closed off and works completed with noise restrictions in place, and scheduled deliveries to minimise tenant disruption.
