Award-winning fit-out specialist Pexhurst has completed an exciting project with the refurbishment of 1 Minster Court, a staple in the landscape of London’s office spaces.
The substantial project involved the modernisation of the existing office building, which is located in the heart of London’s insurance district. The building is admired by many due to its unusual neo-gothic exterior, which sets it apart from other buildings in the area.
Located in the historic Mincing Lane, Minster Court includes a complex of three office buildings, interconnected by glass corridors. Pexhurst was asked by contract administration and project managers Cushman and Wakefield to carry out a refurbishment of the interior, in order to house a modern space that prioritises workers' well-being and comfort.
In a 52-week programme, Pexhurst stripped out two floors of open-plan office spaces and completed a CAT A refurbishment. The office space received new ceilings, lighting systems and a full interior redecoration. Alongside this, Pexhurst installed a new HVAC system throughout the project areas to ensure the building's users' comfort was prioritised.
Pexhurst also completed a CAT B refurbishment on the building’s lobbies, which included new wall paneling, hardwood floor finishes, new lighting and fresh, contemporary décor. As part of the renovations, the main reception was also fitted with new tiled floor finishes, polished plastered finishes, new loose furnishings, and contemporary banquette upholstered seating.
Users of the office will also enjoy new break out space facilities, as Pexhurst stripped out the building’s old retail unit and fitted a brand-new business lounge. The lounge has new flooring, wall paneling and lighting fixtures, as well as specialist joinery installations incorporating TV screens to allow for both productive meetings, and relaxed social gatherings. The business lounge was refurbished to Pexhurst’s exceptional standards and allows for a multi-functional space to work.
