The demand for facilities and purpose-built accommodation for students in higher education has increased rapidly across the UK and has attracted record levels of investment in recent years.
We understand the role high quality educational facilities and student accommodation plays in supporting the growth of higher education institutions and asset owners by:
- Attracting, recruiting and retraining students
- Building the best student experience
- Maximising profits from student lets
- Maximising the value of real estate assets
Pexhurst are proud to partner with a number of higher education institutions and developers that provide well-located, high-quality and attractive on-campus facilities and student accommodation across London, the wider city regions and the South of England.
Since 1977, we have been delivering a wide range of projects including state-of-the-art science facilities, flexible teaching spaces and the refurbishment of student rooms, break-out zones and common areas. We pride ourselves on working with all project stakeholders, supported by specialist and local subcontractors, in an open and collaborative manner to ensure minimal interruption to day-to-day life on campus.
Long-standing client relationships
Over the past 15 years, we have built a successful relationship with the University of Hertfordshire, delivering over 100 projects along the way.
We are proud to have been involved in the 2020 Estates Vision – an ambitious development programme and the most radical intervention on the campus since it opened nearly 60 years ago.
Pexhurst is one of the university’s framework contractors and has a long track record of successful project delivery. The framework agreement has seen us develop an excellent working relationship that benefits all parties; projects can be developed more efficiently and allows for innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Bolstered by our broad range of expertise and a collaborative and flexible approach to working, the relationship has seen us deliver facilities varying in size and type from the internal refurbishment of Titan Court through to the construction of a landmark science building on the University’s College Lane campus.
All of these facilities, along with others, combine to make the university an ambitious and entrepreneurial educational institution focused on developing new and creative approaches to learning, teaching and research, as well as adding value to students and employees.
Delivering client expectations
As an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accredited organisation, we build long-term relationships with our clients. Our approach is centred on our commitment to adhering to quality procedures and providing our clients with the comfort of knowing they can rely upon us to deliver.
We recognise that there are certain parameters that need to be adhered to when completing fit-out or refurbishment projects in the higher education sector. These include scheduling work outside of term, providing workers who hold CRB checks, and ensuring that the highest quality of works are delivered to tight deadlines.
From the outset, our dedicated and specialised team will work with you to identify the criteria that will make your project a success. To ensure your satisfaction, we track our progress against the criteria you have set. We value openness and honesty and gather both quantitative and qualitative feedback to shape our delivery and ensure we are hitting our targets at every stage of the project.
