We’re proud to announce that the Pexhurst Charitable Trust has completed its first round of donations, supporting both local education provision and national autism initiatives as part of our commitment to creating positive social impact in the communities we have served for nearly 50 years.
Following the formal launch of the Trust in 2025 by internal trustees Kayla Vella, Charlotte Harris and Rosy Vella, more than £50,000 was raised within its first year. Two organisations were selected as the first successful grant recipients: Greenside SEND School and National Autistic Society, marking the beginning of the Trust’s grant-giving activity.
Funding awarded to Greenside School in Stevenage has enabled the purchase of three iPads equipped with specialist communication software. These devices provide Voice Output Communication Aids (VOCA) for pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex communication needs. The technology allows non-speaking learners to express their needs, make choices and engage more confidently in day-to-day school life.

Many of our learners rely on augmentative and alternative communication to make themselves understood. The iPads funded through the Pexhurst Charitable Trust have already made a real difference, giving pupils a voice and helping them communicate more independently throughout the school day.
Meanwhile, the funding awarded to the National Autistic Society is directly supporting its Young Ambassadors Training Workshop, which empowers young autistic people to raise awareness, share lived experiences and drive positive change by developing skills in communication and public engagement. The funding enables the training to be delivered online, helping to support knowledge-sharing and build confidence among young participants.

Our Charitable Trust is funded through a combination of company contributions, voluntary employee donations and annual fundraising events. A structured application process ensures support reaches individuals and organisations where it can make the greatest impact. Further grant rounds are planned throughout the year as the trust continues to grow.

Most recently, the trust has made a further donation to East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity, ensuring Therapy Pony visits to Lister Hospital are fully funded for 2026. The visits aim to enhance patient wellbeing, bringing moments of comfort and positivity to those receiving care.
