Sensitive, carefully planned and executed projects, with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene, exceptional finishes, durable materials and high‑quality workmanship- Project completed in 2009

St Pancras Hospital, South Wing

12 weeks

Our expertise in healthcare programmes has led NHS Camden to appoint Pexhurst for many different projects. In all our work for health authorities, we have demonstrated an exemplary understanding of the special needs of healthcare buildings and occupants.

This department’s specialised doctors and nurses, supported by administrators, provide services to more than 70 organisations across the borough offering support, screening and advice to employees.

The budget allocation is such that sections of the work had to be carried out on a piecemeal basis. As this is a large hospital, we knew that the work required would always need to be carried out next to other departments that remained in use and occupied.

In this project, Pexhurst renewed everything apart from the fabric of the building itself. We injected a damp-proof course and built new toilet and shower facilities. We also installed new electrical and mechanical services, removed all redundant partitions and installed new glazed partitions. Along with new floor finishes, these gave a much brighter and more contemporary feel to the space. Throughout the project, we liaised continuously with other users of the wing to maintain safe and secure access and keep disruption to a minimum.
