Opening February 2012 and set in the heart of the city, our new London office will be a short walk from Liverpool Street Station.
This London office will provide Pexhurst with a wider profile in the London fit-out market, placing us in closer proximity to a number of our customers, already based in the city.
On 8th December, our external Health and Safety consultants The Health and Safety People Ltd visited our Welham Green office and carried out a detailed annual review of our entire system and premises.
Their findings were extremely positive, with just some of their comments summarised below:
“We are pleased to find that the company continues to place health and safety at the centre of its decision making.
The introduction of an integrated management system has added another set of eyes reviewing and auditing company activities and that appears to have had a positive effect.
We were very pleased to find in place a company training matrix in place for both directly employed Pexhurst staff as well as contract Site Managers, detailing a wide range of task specific and management training courses.
Throughout the year we have visited most of your sites and from our meetings to discuss the reports generated, we note your enthusiasm and determination to impose the highest standards of health and safety.”
Pexhurst have recently completed the construction of a private luxury dwelling ...
"I'd like to thank you and your team for the dedication and hard work for building for us the amazing and beautiful house. Please kindly convey our thanks to all at pexhurst who have been working hard on this project. "
Pexhurst recently received a compliment from their supply chain regarding their reliability of paying quickly and on time;
“Pexhurst are always reliable and on time and when cash flow is becoming increasingly hard to manage I am very grateful for signing payments off on time”.
The success of Pexhurst over recent years has largely been down to our excellent team and their dedication to the business; therefore we are expanding our Board of Directors and also appointing two Associate Directors.
First addition to the Board is Nick Tagliarini who joined Pexhurst as Marketing Manager in 2001. Nick has been integral to the growth of the business and he will now be looking to build upon his success by recruiting a Business Development Manager to join his team and help to take the business further forward.
Another welcome addition to the Board is Penny Dew who joined Pexhurst in 2003 as our Accounts Manager. Over the years, in addition to the financial side of the business, Penny has also developed our Human Resources function and, with a view to continuing to keep a tight hold on our finances and help grow the business, she will join the board with immediate effect.
The two Associate Directors that have been appointed are Lee Stuart and David Walker. Lee’s immediate role will be to help us restructure the business so that we are well placed for growth over the coming years. David will continue to develop his Estimating department and build upon its success in winning profitable business in a difficult market.
Martin Vella, Managing Director, Pexhurst commented, 'We are all very pleased with the direction that the company has taken in recent years and with the dedicated team that has worked tirelessly to make it a success. Change is always very difficult however with our new strengthened management team we are confident that we can continue to grow and deliver excellent projects for our clients.'
We recently introduced an online tender package that will provide our supply chain with the ability to work via a secure online supplier portal, allowing them to download drawings and specifications to quote for works.
This will also contribute positively to our sustainability objectives, as moving forward we will send very little out by post! More to follow in the near future on this smart working practice.
We are pleased to announce that Pexhurst have recently passed the annual ISOQAR surveillance visit for our three ISO certified Management Systems, with no issues or non-conformances raised.
The Auditor commented:
“A very good visit in terms of compliance, high levels of compliance identified in all areas.”

Pexhurst have recently completed a large Design and Build project at Reading Magistrates court. This 22 week programme involved the formation of new offices and a court area within the existing building as well as the formation of a mansard roof to the court area. Close client liaison has been paramount to the smooth running of the project owing to the sensitive environment in which work was carried out. The court remained in session throughout the duration of works resulting in phased and out of hours works. Road closures were also necessary to facilitate crane lifts for structural steelwork. |
