University of Hertfordshire

This award winning project, involved transforming old fashioned classrooms into contemporary, inspirational and professional centres for learning.
Pexhurst took this job over from another contractor and timeframes were extremely tight, as the University had a non-negotiable deadline to vacate their existing building. With high-quality finishes and natural ventilation key requirements for this project, the primary tasks and objectives were:

Replacing external walls and installing a new and innovative ventilation system
• Fitting out offices to the highest-quality modern standards, with a sophisticated cast glass curved partitioning system
• Installing storage walls
• Making bespoke fur niture
• Creating a polished plaster reception area
• Managing and co-ordinating a large team of suppliers and contractors – a key strength of Pexhurst

The University’s deadlines and quality objectives were met successfully by the Pexhurst team. It was a major challenge taking over this project from the previous contractor.

The University had an immovable deadline to leave their previous facility and a host of quality, design and innovation requirements. We were delighted to showcase Pexhurst’s project management, design and delivery capabilities, managing a large and diverse team of contractors and suppliers and meeting the University’s project objectives with distinctive, innovative and added-value designs.
