Assistant Receptionist/ Administrator

  • Train station within a 5 minute walk from the office 

This job role will include the following– 

Reception Duties

  • Answering and transferring incoming calls, taking messages and answering queries 
  • Opening, stamping and distributing incoming post/weighing and franking outgoing post in time for daily collection 
  • Taking in/signing for deliveries 
  • Meeting and greeting visitors ensuring they sign in and are made to feel welcome 
  • Making refreshments for meetings 
  • Generally keeping the office, meeting rooms and kitchen areas tidy 

Administrator Duties

  • Admin support to all departments within the office including filing, shredding, copying, printing, laminating, preparing H&S files and scanning 
  • Assisting with Company vehicle fleet management – booking of servicing/ MOT/ insurances/ accidents/ repairs/ car track – fortnightly reports/ ordering fuel cards/ Transport for London & Dart Charge 
  • Assisting with Company mobile phone management – warranty exchanges, ordering of new equipment, issue and logging of IT equipment 

It is anticipated that the administration side of the role will grow as experience is gained so an interest/willingness to learn and a desire to take on new tasks is a must. The company is happy to support the right person to achieve an NVQ Business Administration qualification or similar. 


You should be customer focused with previous experience of working in a busy office environment preferred. You must be a conscientious individual who is capable of working unsupervised as well as being willing to work as part of a team. You will have a good attention to detail and a desire to learn. You must be punctual and presentable with a good telephone manner and have a can-do attitude.

Contracts Manager

  • Based in our Welham Green office but will include site visits as necessary

This job role will include the following:

  • Overseeing the running of several projects and reporting to the directors
  • Taking off materials for site well in advance of required date and passing on to the buying department for procurement
  • Liaising with the Client team and chairing site meetings as necessary
  • Developing a working programme for the project
  • Monitoring and driving the programme throughout the project to ensure completion on time
  • Monitoring the quality of workmanship throughout the project and dealing with snagging throughout to ensure a snag free handover
  • The candidate should be forward thinking to plan ahead, and have a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Ensuring the project is built to meet the Employers Requirements and to meet Client expectations
  • Management of Contract Instructions, Technical Submittals and RFI’s
  • Using construction management software packages
  • Must be able to work under own initiative and work as part of a team

Commercial Manager

This job role will include the following:

  • Overseeing the commercial management of several projects and producing monthly CVR reports for the directors
  • Taking off materials for site well in advance of required date and passing on to the buying department for procurement
  • Producing and issuing a cash flow forecast for each project
  • Negotiating subcontract packages with the supply chain, issuing subcontract orders, dealing with subcontract variations and agreeing subcontract payments  
  • The candidate should have a knowledge of current costs for labour, plant and raw materials
  • Managing the project account, keeping the Clients professional team updated throughout the project including issuing monthly valuations and a running account  
  • Agreeing Client account and all subcontractor accounts upon completion
  • The candidate should be forward thinking to plan ahead, and have a proactive approach to solving problems
  • Ensuring the project is built to meet the Employers Requirements and to meet Client expectations
  • Management of Contract Instructions, Technical Submittals and RFI’s
  • Using construction management software packages
  • Undertaking relevant value engineering exercises
  • Must be able to work under own initiative and work as part of a team

  • Preparing the site to ensure the site complies with current health & safety legislation
  • Organising and coordinating the day-to-day activities on site
  • Taking off materials and passing on to the buying department for procurement
  • Management of materials to minimise waste 
  • Maintaining site diaries, waste transfer notes, issuing inductions, permits, tool box talks, ensuring all health & safety legislation is complied with, and all Pexhurst site rules are followed
  • Reviewing, commenting, approving subcontractor method statements and risk assessments
  • Managing the safety of all personnel on the project together with any neighbouring properties or public spaces outside of the site demise
  • Liaising with the Client team and chairing site meetings as necessary
  • Developing a working programme for the project
  • Monitoring and driving the programme throughout the project to ensure completion on time
  • Monitoring the quality of workmanship throughout the project and dealing with snagging throughout to ensure a snag free handover

Estimator

This job role will include the following:

  • Issuing of tender documentation to the supply chain for pricing
  • Site surveys prior to pricing
  • Review of all sub-contractors quotations to ensure compliance with tender documentation
  • Working on multiple tenders ranging in value from £250k to £10 million
  • The production of Schedule of Works/ Bills of Quantities
  • Compilation of rates using labour, plant and materials
  • Producing bid documentation – methodology, programmes etc.
  • Preparing mid/ post-tender client presentation packs and attending Client meetings
  • Answering post tender queries
  • Undertaking relevant value engineering exercises
  • Must be able to work under own initiative and work as part of a team
